I do like these new signs. It's nice to see a set of bespoke signs at a smaller collection that don't look like they were done in Year 7 IT class, for one!
I think my favourite is still the one comparing the three species of cassowary, though.
Would be even better if the 3 species of cassowary were there to compare . You never know with Blackbrook , they do manage to get some very unusual species .
This is pretty good, and if they can be kept in the right place - a Blackbrook problem! - that'll be excellent.
With all that empty space, though, it's a shame they haven't got the species names in foreign languages - not just for foreign visitors (not sure how many make it to rural Staffordshire), but also for the interest of local visitors.
I'd also like to see information specific to the zoo: how long has this species there? Have they bred? Interesting stories about their husbandry from the keepers? All those TV shows from zoos prove that the general public craves that behind-the-scenes information far more than they want to know about the species in general.
