A swan determined to hide its species by judicious application of mud! It did wash off later so I know the species - anyone fancy a guess??

Oh no, it has escaped the thread!

I'm going to throw out a random guess of Jankowski's Swan.

I can say with surety that it is in the genus Cygnus!

Yeah, actually I think we can narrow down further to Cygnus buccinator, Cygnus columbianus or less likely Cygnus cygnus.
