Grey Goshawk

French\'s Forest (Sydney\'s Northern Beaches).

A few days ago the birds in my aviary started going mental, I thought the Noisy Miners were bothering them as I could hear the Miners calling. I went down to the aviary and found the Miners in a nearby tree, sounding quite upset. I then spied this goshawk in a tree near the aviary. When it eventually took off the Miners mobbed it.

Do you see these often Hix?

I have only ever seen one wild hawk while going to school by bus, it was circling a large grassy area next to the main road presumably for rabbits, which I have seen nearby.

Not sure, only saw a dark shadow (I know it was a hawk tho) as it was a very gloomy and dark day. And I would have no idea!

Maybe it is why a rabbit went missing at school.....

Once every few years. They may have occurred mkore frequently, but I might have been at work when it/they were visiting.
