New Orang House development as at 22nd March 2014

Blackpool Zoo has several raised walk-ways now , notable for the Iberian wolves and giraffes .

Was going to get a shot of this on Sunday - I think they want to get the orangutans back as soon as possible and the indoor area is first priority.

The refurbishment is part of a three phase development which will be carried out over the course of the next few years. The next two stages will include the orang-utan’s outside area be extended and made higher, a new play area for little visitors being developed across from the enclosure and the gorilla house will also be renovated and expanded.
