Thank you Hix! I'm always trying to identify the trees as well, but unfortunately I seem to be hopeless whenever I have to put my botanical knowledge to the test… During my visit to WA I even bought a field guide to the trees of the region. Since and so many species are actually not native and were introduced, they don't even appear in this book… Do you happen to know whether the Umbrella Tree is native to WA?
No, not WA. They are found in Queensland and the Northern Territory, usually in rainforests. However, they've been introduced to mainy parts of the world and in tropical regions are considered an invasive weed.
