P P Pertinax 29 Aug 2014 Afaik Brean Down represents the most Westerly point of the limestone Mendip Hills, so as an 'outlier' of them, it has similar character/flora. The Limestone resurfaces again as the island outcrop of Steep Holm in the Bristol Channel.
