The Wallace aviary exterior before they completely destroyed it by turning it into that atrocious kiddie’s water play area.

The inside is one hell of a lot better now though.

Do you think so? I liked that little ravine that used exist, I guess it would have been difficult to keep clean and so maybe some hygiene issues but now we’re treated to an orange concrete river bed, crossed by a very unconvincing rope bridge. And what’s with the crashed plane? I can tolerate the landrover but the plane? The aviary’s starting to look like a scrap yard.

Meh, I like it, the indoor aviaries are much better for the animals, and we have to remember that this exhibit is aimed at kids.

Hopefully they have done something about the smell in there too, when i visited a few years back the smell was unbearable

lol, the smell is probably back by now, don't notice it myself. The ravine was a nightmare, no filtration at all, so hard to keep clean, too deep so several birds drowned, especially fledglings and took up precious floor space the birds could be using. The birds are adapting well to their "new" home with Nicobar, Pied Imperial and Victoria crowned pigeons having laid already.
