Fledgling with adult. Seal and Penguin Coasts, Bristol, 18th July 2009

Aww, the Terns are lovely.
Didn't one of the young ones die because it became imprinted and all the idiot tourists kept feeding it rubbish when he got close. :-(

Oh dear! There were 2 when I took this photo a month ago. I saw the terns being fed on whitebait - as held by the adult in the photo.

No, none of the fledglings have died in that way! Not sure where that stosy came from?! Both of this years are fine and one was reared by our only hand reared male who is very much alive! Have eggs again from one pair so may possib;y have another couple of chicks yet.

Imprint

There was a sign up asking people not to feed a particular bird a couple of years ago as he was becoming imprinted. I have photo of him I will upload later. I was there the year after and a member of staff was telling a visitor that it had died. So I am afraid thats where I heard it. :( If it's not true then I am glad cos he was lovely. Though there were some idiot M.O.Ps trying to stroke him.
