Do people on here who say that the photo of Kate is a private matter and should have been kept in her own private collection, remember t.v programmes like Animal Magic when they would have large mammals on and touch them in full view of the viewing public. I was a very young boy at the time but it didn't make me want to go to the zoo to stroke a lion, tiger, elephant, rhino, gorilla or any other large mammal on the programme what I'm trying to say is this is a photo of a keeper and a lion and the trust they have for one another. But I wouldn't go out and do it myself even though I would love to.
Without human contact with animals we would know nothing about the behaviour of any animal small or large.
So it's safe to say we all learn by our mistakes

You say you engage in hunting, profession was the wrong word (grow up!) Put it this way, Zambar told you that was wrong and you could not take it yet you are quite prepared to tell KateA that she is doing her job wrong. That, unless I am mistaken, is hippocritical.
That is the most likely thing which could happen. Just because the keeper is next to the fence does not mean it is magically not there and the animal could pounce on her (don't get any ideas ZooTeacher ). Yes, something worse could happen but judging by her position next to the fence I would say the chance of serious injury is unlikely.
Both! I do work for Farmers controlling pests (wild of course) I shoot (Squirrel, Rabbit, vermin Birds, Foxes etc) and I manage a boarding kennels and cattety, see? Domestic AND wild!
I also used to assess dogs for the army, prison service and Police force, drugs and explosive dogs, cadaver detection dogs and patrol dogs, some of those were wild I can tell you!!
I'm not quite sure that gives you much more credance in dealing with lions but I suppose you do have experience with wild animals (as do I, I've been walking in woods too ).
Funny, you can't really be shouted down when PRIVATE messaging. Still, I'm willing to accept there are a couple more who haven't messaged you so that's six, if it were only seven people who didn't like me on a site of two thousand, I'd be pretty happy.

Yes profession was the wrong word I can take it fine, why do you think I keep bothering to reply? Ask away what do you want to know about hunting? Or shooting, or assessing service dogs?
And "hippocritical" Im guessing you mean hypocritical? I didnt respond to that as I thought you were more mature than attribute the word to an animal? Drop the "grow up" too, its childish.

Most likely in your opinion. Unlikely perhaps, but possible definitely!

Again childish, I never said I had "dealt" with Lions, thats people putting words down that never existed!

DawnB what was meant by the phrase we all learn by our mistakes didn't refer to the lion photo it refer to life in general.
I don't want to get drawn into a thread that started with a genuine photo for all of us to look out and make a general reply to the photo.
As I have said before on other threads life would be boring if everybody agreed with everything

wow, people IT IS JUST A PHOTO..... she can do what she wants its her choice if she gets two eyes clawed out..... and all this silly arguing isnt giving this vast knowledge of animals any street cred in the internet terms. It like Dawn would you complain if someone put a photo of someone feeding a lion by hand thru a fence, and try take a more postive attidute towards other peoples opinions (sorry if it offend but its just the way you were phrasing your words)
Tuan its her own opinion accept that it is opposite to urs and live and forget...
and i think this forum is now just becoming a place for anti zoo campgainers just to get BAD information on zoos, and that we should learn to co-exist with other people opinion, yes they are sometimes annoying, irritating, stupid just keep it to urself or talk to the PRIVATELY so it doesnt become a big massive fued like this one...

I don't wish to know anything about hunting, I've researched the subject for myself thank you, and although I disagree with Zambar he is entitled to an opinion. The fact that you simply retorted by saying he is "ignorant" suggests you cannot take it and just wish to put down those who disagree with you. I do not believe this is true as I have had civilised debates with you before, but you are certainly coming across that way in this thread.
And at fifteen I am legally considered as a child, so being called "childish" does not bother me. Even so, if you think my spelling's bad, look elsewhere on the forum! I'm sure I could find some example of you spelling something wrong and begin a pointless argument, but suffice to say that this is a long thread and I really can't be bothered.
Incidentally, the "grow up" was a joke, as what I wrote reminded me very much of what had been written earlier in this thread with a "grow up" following it.
Lions taking over the world is possible. Me flying to the moon on a bannana is possible. Andrew Lloyd Webber being voted sexiest man alive is possible. Just because something is possible, does not mean it will happen.
Again, I am legally a child so don't mind being reminded of this. And your post says that your credentials to discuss this matter are working with animals for twenty something years. I simply pointed out that shooting squirrels is not the best experience when it comes to lions. I never said you had dealt with lions so stop putting words in my mouth.
Incidentally, I just noticed that you didn't put an apostrophe in the word "thats", as it is an abbreviation of "that is" it should have one - how childish of you.
