Has this buldling always been a repyile house? The exhibits look older then the actual building.
 
I don't remember it being anything else. Except for a visit when I was very small that I don't clearly remember, the house has been there every time I've been.
 
I'm sure it's always been a reptile house, it is good :)
 
It does look like a nice,light and open Reptile House.
It looks like it is an older building though that might just be cause of the old brick work.
 
According to the zoo's website, the Reptile House opened in 1981 (I presume this refers to the current building - it sounds about right).
 
All of Bristol's reptiles are in (or immediately outside) the Reptile House except for a handful in the Nocturnal House (including the rattlesnakes), so pretty much all the reptile shots in the gallery are this house. Here's a few:
