This is a very nice display in the first tank in Bristol's aquarium. C. alvarezi is one of the endangered pupfishes, but these guys seemed to be doing their bit, spawning in this display tank (they have the real breeding colony behind the scenes).
I had to take a lot of shots to get a few decent ones, because these males were really hyperactive (a cyprinodont characteristic that they have in spades) and the lighting was difficult, but I like a challenge . . . . occasionally .
