i think it's the arabian gazelle paddock. I believe it was built after they filled in the old polar bear pits. This is on the side of (Fur) Seal & (african/jackass) Penguin coast. hope this helps
The polar bear pit was directly to the left of this enclosure and the two existed together until they were both demolished to make way for Seal and Penguin Coasts. The polar bear pit itself held the Sumatran tigers for a while after the cat cages were combined to house the lions.
I have a vague recollection that this could have been another bear pit but I was always under the impression the other bears were on the site of the current aquarium.

This area was actually the site of two bear pits which were added circa 1960's as modern counterparts to the Polar Bear one. The smaller one nearest the Guthrie Road entrance had Brown bears(2) the 'middle' one was longer and held Himalayan, Sloth and Sun Bears. Both were viewed from a continuation of the walkway from the Polar bear enclosure and steps led down to the area by the entrance.
These bears were previously kept in cages surrounding the Aquarium building.
