Do I detect a vague similarity to grandfather 'Samson' at a similar age?:)

I hope this genetically very valuable male stays in this mixed sex group as long as possible. I don't like seeing them moved into male groups at too early an age(or at all really). 'Kesho' at London had the ideal background- still living with his own parents at age 11 and then straight to a breeding/female group (albeit a problematic one;) )-it shows it can be done!

I only saw Samson after he became a father - and I'm rubbish at spotting family likenesses anyway. But I agree 100% with everything else that Pertinax has said.

I first saw/photo'd 'Samson' at roughly this age or a maybe little older- there's a similar 'humorous/mischievous' look here but it may be the expression rather than actual likeness. Different people see different likenesses in Gorillas;). Mother 'Salome' definately resembles 'Samson' though.

Young/blackback males still living with parents- the first time I saw this was at Basel Zoo- Stefi & Achilla with their 2nd son, the beautiful 'Migger' -I had no idea before that related males could live together like that.
