This fennec was in the large outside enclosure at the north-west corner of the house. The vegetation looks quite rich, they were usually kept in pens with sandier substrates.

This fennec was in the large outside enclosure at the north-west corner of the house. The vegetation looks quite rich, they were usually kept in pens with sandier substrates.
 
I remember the fennecs in the enclosure you described. At one point a fennec was on exhibit which had only three legs.
 
Interesting how English speaking people usually call them 'Fennecs' rather than 'Fennec Foxes'......Fennec means 'rabbit' in arabic, thus the 'rabbit fox'......
