I wouldn't say due entirely to non-human causes. If humans hadn't caused a decline in the available habitat area on Montserrat then the species would be less vulnerable to natural elements (that is, recent volcanic activity hasn't wiped out the entire island's habitat, but if the habitat has been already reduced by humans then there are fewer orioles in smaller areas so extinction can then be hastened by natural events)

This species tends to lurk in the foliage, and they hop around fast enough to make a photographer swear. This female was feeding rather messily, but at least it kept her in one place.
