Blue-crowned laughing thrush

Dryonastes courtoisi, free-flying in Tropical Realm, Chester. 21st February 2009.
Are they not a garrulax?

For me they're Garrulax courtousi. But you know, taxonomist changes constantly all animal names...

I'm not a taxonomist. I decided quite a while ago to use the same names as ISIS; they can't be too badly wrong and it makes it easier to keep track of the subjects.

In the 1980s H.Wolters investigated the large genus Garrulax and as a splitter he elevated many subgenera to generic rank. Most of his work has been vindicated by modern DNA analysis. So at the moment this species is a member of Dryonastes.

I use the names given in Handbook of the Birds of the World, seems like ISIS also does now.
