Umm... let's hope the plants grow well, at the moment it's not pretty. I also hope they didn't cut another nearby tree down.
I'll take a look for myself this week, but what is the walk up to the enclosure like from the penguin/aviary direction? It looks from the photos like visitors are confronted with a large, unwelcoming fence.

From the old otter enclosure adjacent to Oakfield House? It didn't encompass any mature trees of this type, plus I'm fairly sure at least one originated from the edge of the Jubilee Garden. I'll try to find out...

I was wondering because Giant Otters are the most terrestrial otter species I've ever seen. At the LA zoo they love flopping around in the sand most of the day.
