He's 10 years old now. He seems very friendly with the others. A few minutes before I took this shot, he went over to Puluh and tried to play with him. Unfortunately Puluh wasn't interested and turned his back (otherwise you might be looking a photo of them together now).
I thought I could tell by the way the hair grows on their heads, but now I don't think I can.
On the other hand, I'm probably right here because in the previous picture in this sequence (also in the Gallery) he was sitting with Subis who was cleaning his ear - I don't think any young male orang (or little boy of the same age) would let any female except his mother do that
When he escaped from her, he went to play with Padang.
I doubt his cheek pads will grow much more while he's still living with his father. Being with an adult male can suppress his development for a while.
I think Padang will almost certainly leave the UK and go into a European group as a breeding male in due course when one of the very old Sumatran males dies off, as his Perth/Bristol genes are largely unrepresented in the European population.
