In Realm of the Red Ape.
Point taken - I think I should have expressed myself better with the 'preferring rarer species' - how I meant it was if I go to a new zoo I will check species lists for things I haven't seen before, usually because they are rare in other zoos (or just zoos I go to :D) - for example, I would spend longer trying to photograph an Indochinese tiger than a Sumatran tiger. When I went to Edinburgh, I spent a bigger percentage of my zoo visit watching the penguins than I would at Chester, because they aren't Humboldts (don't get me wrong, Humboldt penguins are nice but I'm just soo sick of them ) - so I guess I could say I prefer seeing rarer species because it's refreshing, not due to how high up they are on my 'favourites' list - if that makes sense :o.

As for adding curassow's - that'll teach me to be as broad as taking 'pheasant' to be the whole of Galliformes :D (I'll scratch them off the list lol)

According to at least one study of bird taxonomy, they aren't even Galliformes, but fall under the order Craciformes*. :D

*this does not seem to be widely accepted, however!

I didn't know that :D - at least it's not widely accepted yet, so I'm not wrong as such  (never found an excuse to use that smilie, I think this is it)

Re 'Craciformes'; some people will split anything.
