Old hat now, and Alan will shout about the saturation levels, but I thought this photograph showed off the colours of these striking birds.

It looks like there's a hint of mating behaviour between the pair, fingers crossed that the male will start to display and extend his bib.

Very nice picture, I had a shady look at the tragopans on the way to Spirit of the Jaguar and got some good ones - would be good to see him display :)

Did you notice that the male and female were together up in the back left corner of the enclosure? That's a new, open spot for them, so maybe we'll be lucky.

Nope, he was on the usual rock at the front where I always see him (and the Cabot's was in the usual corner) - I noticed though that the blue 'bib' seemed a little more prominant. I've only ever seen the female Temminck's once when they were new in the enclosure, and that was hidden in a shadowy part at the back.

Nice shot. The saturation looks OK to me, because Temmincks are pretty saturated birds (if you see what I mean). A display shot would be wonderful, but knowing tragopans, he probably one does it at dawn and dusk in the darkest part of the aviary :D

I was going to look at these birds on Saturday, but as I made my way past the giant otters I was abducted by two Zoochatters and forced to go to the giraffes.
