Are they not still very young to be out of their den ? I appreciate the set up at Chester is difficult , with only the one outside enclosure , and their mum probably desperate to get out .

She had all three cubs out this morning, in one of the outside dens. Fabi was on a high level platform very close by, looking more relaxed then he has for weeks.

so when you say 'outside den' has she made them under the platforms and the like? did you shoot the photo from the glass end of the enclosure too?

That is what I thought too. I wouldn't expect to see cubs outside normally until, say, six weeks old- for a first appearance.
