I do too, so presumably they have moved from the Aviaries somewhere near the Lion area where I saw this flock a few years ago? I remember there was a painted sign depicting their native habitat- they live in Pine Forest apparently- very unusual for a Parakeet.

You have to like a bird as beautiful as this - unless perhaps you have hypersensitive hearing. They used to be kept in one of the old Oakfield aviaries between Oakfield House and the owls, now they are in the avairy on the side of the elephant house, which originally was in two sections and held squirrels. If the Zoo ever goes fully zoogeographic, I would love to see them in a long flight in a Chinese section, next to pheasants and red pandas.
That is indeed where I saw them. I remember the aviary was furnished with Pine branches but as these were all dead it didn't create quite the natural effect they were after. But a good display nevertheless.
