I just want to point out that this is actually the coral exhibit, not the 2m litre GBR oceanarium. This tank is large for a reef tank, but probably only about 4-5,000 litres.

Also - do you mean that the oceanarium is the largest specifically "Great Barrier Reef" exhibit in the world, or the largest tank full stop? Because it may be the former (I'm not sure) but it's definitely not the latter. As you'll find when you check out the Georgia Aquarium gallery, there's a tank in the US that's about 10 times bigger.
The coral tank at Sydney Aquarium is definitely NOT the largest exhibit with live coral. The one at Townsville, as zoomaniac says, is bigger. There is also a larger coral tank (though not quite fully established yet) at the Georgia Aquarium, and a 20,000 gallon one at Atlantis Marine World in New York. Having seen the impressive, but not gargantuan coral tank at Sydney, I have no doubt there are many, many more.
The exhibit I think would look spectacular if they used seamless acrylic windows. It still looks amazing though! Most aquariums just have a small tank built into the wall, but the semi- circular effect is really neat.
