She's still on her own at the present time. The general opinion is that she's too old for a successful breeding now (16 and never bred) and that a new pair would be the only option for Chester to attempt breeding again.
Then other issue is that last year Franka was suffering with bad Alopecia - which was thought to be caused by stress from the male. There is a concern that if a new male was bought in with her there then her recent improvements could be a thing of the past.... so not as simple as asking for a young male and then keeping them together until Franka dies
The most likely scenario might be the future arrival of a new younger pair, and 'Franka' just continuing to live alone, that's if they have the room/facility to do that.
If a new pair was to arrive she would have to leave because,if they had to separate the new pair for any reason they could not do it without one of them being confined in doors,which the mangement inthe zoo would not allow!
