Monsoon Forest: orang outdoor enclosure

Eastern barless orang enclosure. Viewed near exit from Monsoon Forest. The visitor's side fence, which I was shooting over, is the Monsoon Forest with bamboo and ropework. I trust that the ugly angle iron and wire barrier is temporary. Islands, Chester, 19th August 2015
Eastern barless orang enclosure. Viewed near exit from Monsoon Forest. The visitor's side fence, which I was shooting over, is in the Monsoon Forest style with bamboo and ropework. I trust that the ugly angle iron and wire barrier is temporary. The wire orang enclosure is in the background. The blue spot in the background is one of the zoo staff in their new high-vis polo shirt. Islands, Chester, 19th August 2015

professionally speaking the planting leaves a lot to be desired, I think the water is running off rather than soaking in looking at the erosion on the banks and lush lower planting. hence the bamboo etc look deplorable.

I assume that this enclosure is not yet finished and will be equipped with more ropes etc?

Apart from the living trees, all the plants in this photo have been planted since the preview days (10th July onwards) with the probable exception of the flourishing growth in the foreground, which is invisible from the boat and I suspect may be weeds. I would guess that this enclosure will be the last that the orangs are given access to as the plants have such a lot of growing to do.
I don't know about the condition of the other open enclosure as the path beside it was closed when I visited the Monsoon House, but the netted enclosure was fully planted before this one (see photo in this Gallery).
I expect that woven straps will be added to the poles and probably hammocks too, as in the RotRA outdoor enclosures.
