The moat behind this rock must be much wider and deeper than it appears in the photograph. This picture makes it look like a tiger could just walk up to the rock and the wire railing behind it and hop over.
It's an incline (so no water) and must be getting on for twenty feet deep, which in turn creates a large blind spot for visitors. The photo flattens the slope.
