New bird labels in Monsoon Forest, I am just grateful that the annoying "Superb" Fruit Dove sign has gone and the species is now listed by its correct name.
These are much better - not only is that fixed, but we now have the full set of 'five basics' for a zoo label - common name, scientific name, distribution map, image and IUCN status (and even better, both sexes of Fairy Bluebird illustrated).
I don't really like the current sign either - I like signs which have actual information on them - but the previous sign was rubbish (although, I am assuming, was only intended to be temporary anyway?).
I do wish the signs at Chester were neater, I'm not a great fan of these "irregular" hap hazard displays. They remind me of bus time tables that have dropped in their display cabinets over time in neglected bus stops.
