wow that is amazing! I've never heard of this before and had to just Google it to see if that was the normal colouration. How do they avoid predation?? How many bright blue plants are there in Madagascar?
Wow, and Achrioptera! I'm generally not much interested in phasmids and I know very few species, but this one is a wished species for me, I always loved their magnific colours. Nice to know that there are some in european zoos, and nice photo too!
I've been googling a bit trying to find out some info on this species, and there's really nothing out there apart for what they look like and how to keep them. Otherwise all I have found out is that they were the first stick insect to be described from Madagascar (in 1861) and they were first cultured in 2007.
