Inside area of Orangutan Forest

I think this indoor area looks ok, why did they make the outdoor part so crappy looking?

It looks like a palm enthusiasts living room. They all look potted.

Why Couldnt the Outdoor enclosure be atleast as good as this?

I think the outside is so bad because they've made it open to the sky and that restricts where they can put climbing equipment. I'm sure the Orangs care less about seeing the sky than being able to make much more use of the area available to them. So much of the outside is just space they cannot use...

The viewing windows lookm like they give better views than the RORA building at Chester.

Yes, they do. I think the whole building is much simpler and with less height than ROTRA though, so the viewing is simpler too.

I have a feeling the inside is probably quite good though I can only see mostly solid looking poles in the photo.

I like the height and the enrichment at Chester a far cry from the old house with what looked like large children climbing frames.And the outside enclosures are really good.
