Last time I went, the 2 adult statues were still there.
On a previous visit, we'd noted the baby orang the 1st time we went there but by the afternoon it'd gone ...... presumably nicked, or stood on, and broken !
The male's face is actually quite realistic... But I don't quite see the point of statues like this when there are real Orangutans(sorry, single orangutan) nearby to admire, and they will probably just get vandalised anyway.
Snowleopard could you please stop bad mouthing the Orangutan Forest, it is not as bad as it could be.
The female statue has already been vandalised, one of the fingers had been snapped off and left on the floor when i visited in april.
Melbourne Zoo has two lifesize statues in their fantastic exhibit and instead of making them look like this they have been carved out of wood and look really fantastic. I think you can check them out on zoolex.
