it's a thornbill, but again I have no Australian field guide here so have a look at the possibilities in your guide. At a guess I'd say brown thornbill?

Ok now that you mention it, there were a few little birds flitting around in the tree so it probably was not the same exact bird. For the first pic, I was under the bird and used flash. What does the first bird look like though? I would love to get a two for.
