I contacted the zoo over the goats feet , due mainly to over grown hooves, the soil mount was to soft and they had no way of wearing them away.
I suggested putting large concrete slabs the sort you see on demolition sites in to help them wear the hooves down, but the reply said the animals especially the male was a bit boisterous and could injure the female if he pushed her over. (or words to that effect) it was about 5 years or so ago now.
I know wallaby walk-throughs aren't popular amongst Zoochatters, but I like this one. Bamboo isn't exactly "Australian" but the appearance of the enclosure as a whole (in this photo) is very like what you would see in an Australian wildlife park. Much much better in any case than the empty patch of lawn that you often see as wallaby walk-throughs.
My only minor issue is the use of cabbage trees and flax (both NZ plants, not even close to Australian species).
Ironic really, that in a zoo totally infested with mock rock, that they couldn't give the goats sufficient hard standing to keep their feet in trim. There may be more to it than this, and wallabies are certanly easier.
