According to a report from MOCBZ (Ministry of Crappy British Zoos) there was a plague of mock-rockitis at Colchester, and the patas monkeys succumbed to ingesting the gunite-infested fleas that proliferate around man-made-mini-mountain-marvels.
(All in good fun folks, as in reality Colchester might have a lot of exhibits that look like they were designed by Barney Rubble but at the end of the day it is a well-respected zoological park.)
This is basically the same volume as their current outdoor by the looks of it - just much mroe usable as it's in one big space rather than than two unconnected long thin runs. Why they designed the new exhibit like that I'll never know - if there's a good reason it doesn't leap to mind.
It was a roughly square enclosure with a sandy floor, though I don't remember any fake rock in it. The indoors was a little tiled area with viewing windows, similar to in the old Mandrill enclosure. This was the best group of these in the UK, but sadly not any more.
