It's interesting to compare this space to the so-called fantastic hippo exhibits in San Diego, Busch Gardens, Berlin, etc. It just goes to show how open range zoos have the land use that urban zoos simply cannot compete with.
and of course a huge lake on the other side of the steel fence you can see. unfortunately, once the hippos are in the water which is often, obviously, in the summer they are very hard to observe
