yes you got the name right, spotted laughing thrush Garrulax ocellatus. A very nice laughing thrush this one with a very attractive plumage if you look at them properly, yet not all ostentatious like some laughing thrushes are.
Thank you, Chlidonias. I had a notebook and pen in my pocket, but I know the collection at Burford pretty well, so I didn't expect to see a new species. I was concentrating on the photography so hard that it never even occurred to me that I had not got a record of the name.
It just goes to show that if the photo is good enough, someone on ZooChat will be able to identify the beast in the picture.
