Maybe with Sri Lanka getting more tranquil someone will make the effort to bring in more animals. So many monkey species seem to be gradually disappearing from UK zoos.
I also saw one at Twycross (in the past) looking like this- it was bouncing around the enclosure gritting its teeth and calling and looking generally aggressive.
Wonder where the others were? There should be either five or six; the two males in one enclosure, the breeding pair plus (male) young plus 2nd young (sex?) in the courtyard enclosure. So have they lost some recently? If so that could be the end of them in the UK as this is their last hope I think.
The breeding pair and the youngster left the collection shortly after, the Colobus arrived at the park, sadily I do not know where they went, the 2 youns males and the Lar Gibbons were then moved into the enclosure that used to house the breeding pair!I do wonder if the breeding pair went to the Monkey and Owl Sanctuary on the Isle of Wight.

What a strange move. To get rid of the breeders and keep the other males. I guess it was related to keeping the mixed gibbon/langurs. Are the Colobus now in their old cage?
