Yes, it was quite dark. Although about an hour before sunset, it was a grey/wet afternoon, and the enclosure itself is quite dark in parts. It's also shaded by a large oak tree just outside the enclosure on the sunset side, which still retained some leaves in early November (even though quite a few were on the ground, as you can see).
