Saw this enclosure earlier in the week, containing adult pair of Alligators and three young, which were apparently artificially hatched and then introduced to the parents. What appeared to be the mother was very alert and watchful, never seen parental behaviour in a zoo before.
Saw this enclosure earlier in the week, containing adult pair of Alligators and three young, which were apparently artificially hatched and then introduced to the parents. What appeared to be the mother was very alert and watchful, never seen parental behaviour in a zoo before.
That's because its much easier to raise the babies separately than to keep them in with their parents and get worried they may accidentally be killed, or wait until they get big enough to take take a good chunk outta you when have to wrangle them all out.
