CWP Curraghs Wildlife Park

Nice to see a guanaco in the British Isles full stop - rare fish these days. Nice photo!

On Sunday one of Sewerby's elderly females (mother and daughter) died. She had been there since the early to mid 1980s so was positively ancient. Life on the cliff top had suited her. I remember Flamingo Land had one that lived to be 27, so Sewerby's would have been about the same I think or even a little bit older.

Just found out today the Sewerby Guanaco was not one of the originals as I had thought. It was an adult (pregnant and age unknown) when it arrived in 1992, so whilst it was old it was probably not as old as I had thought. The remaining specimen, the daughter, was born in 1993.
