I presume they took the furniture out when they moved the coati's
Don't really see the point of putting pictures of empty enclosures up. I mean they must be empty for a reason and so you can't judge them on an enclosure they're not actually using.
When i visited the zoo this enclosure had been dis-mantled. The furniture had been removed prior to the picture posted being taken. Does no one ever ask a keeper as to any thoughts on the zoo and its exhibits. Rather than make remarks without actually knowing the reasons behind these things. If i ever have a concern i will ask a member of staff. 9 times out of 10 you will get a satisfactory reply and good reasoning behind most things. The staff at the zoo, i have always found, are extremely amenable and very knowledgeable. This zoo is on the up and should be encouraged. Try helping, not hindering.
I dont know what the plans are for this area. As i said previously, this enclosure has now been dis-mantled so i guess we'll have to wait and see what takes its place. I am local to the zoo and visit when i can so if i hear of anything i will let you know.
