Tapir enclosure

Do they have access to both sides of the enclosure? and is there more grass that can't be seen?

How large are the enclosures for the tapirs? Are those Baird's tapirs?

Those are clearly lowland tapirs. This looks like a very basic paddock.

Is this just a hardstanding area? It appears there is a paddock to the right of the shot...

Judging from what is described in "Ben's Zoo" they have a huge paddock. Hopefully someone who has recently visited will confirm this.

I think 'Ben's zoo' refers to the paddock next to this hardstanding that had cabybara and emu in it, and Ronnie the tapir. This hardstanding and house was built after Ronnie died. Does anyone know if these new tapirs still have access to the large paddock and pool?

There's an older photo back in the gallery that shows that the tapirs have (had?) access to a decent sized paddock with at least one tree for shade:

Looks like it's got a pool too, but that could just be where the ground's been churned up

Do these guys have an indoor pool? Doesn't it snow their? If so I would think one would be needed.

It doesn't tend to snow much (althought last winter was freaky) and most (all? ) tapirs across the UK dont have indoor pools
