I'd say it's stark, I don't like running down my local zoo, but this is one place I hate to look at as well. It's just a horrible old building that can't be pulled down (sadly), with a crappy climbing frame and not a hint of greenery anywhere.
I know that the Orangs are the number 1 priority for the zoo, this really can't come fast enough as it's an eyesore and then there will be almost no reason to complain about the zoo.
They have been saying this(with variations) for about thirty years now and still nothing happens. Having said that, 'Jaz' looks in very good condition, not fat and with a good coat of hair despite the dismal concrete enclosure.
They should really let Azimat have another chance to breed by putting her with 'Jorong' as she isn't too old- its the older male 'Ben' who is a failure breedingwise and she will never breed again while she is with him.
