Doesn't look all that healthy.

Virtually all the reptiles at the zoo have been handed in to the zoo by the public or are from Rescued stock, Only the Dwarf Crocodiles are zoo born.
Last year alone the reptile house had spent thousands on trying to save reptiles that were handed in to them unfortunatly some were to sick to keep but most were saved and sent to other collections

Coahuilan Box Turtles (Terrapene coahuila) are actually a big zoo rarity, one I always make a point of checking out at Dudley - there are only two zoos in Europe keeping them.

(though as ever with reptiles there could be hundreds in private hands!)

I think Jersey originally got a stock of these going, and then passed them on. I don't thibk they still have them, but if Jerseylotte is reading this, she could confirm or deny.

This turtle was a rescue and it's shell shows sign of pyramiding which is a long-term problem - most likely from the past owner. And I do believe this species is not common in the UK, however they are readily available in Europe and easily imported.
