Arabian Oryx 5th April 1997

Bizarrely, this once iconic species. representing a significant conservation success. seems to have done an about-turn in the UK recently and is now found at only one park- Marwell, where there are now only around 4 animals.:(

Arabian Oryx

I too regret the virtual disappearance of this species from the UK. One could argue that the conservation job has been done, & it no longer merits a place on collections, or just admit that it's gone out of fashion.

It is an iconic species and one of my personal favourites as well, it's good to see a picture of one when housed at Dudley.
