Old Bear Pit 5th April 1997

There are some really great photos you've posted here. Was this in the wooded area past where the chimps are held?
I really dont recall it, what type of bears were in here, or was it Inca's old home?

I believe it was for Sun Bears.

That would have been my guess to as they are the only type Dudley has held for a long time, but it looks terribly small place

I'm thinking this was a Tecton look-a-like as if it was the real thing there would still be a trace of it.

Thank-you. Yes, it was in that area. Looking through my old guide books, the mid 1960s one and the c 1970 one both just say "Bear Pit", and there is no description in the itinerary. The 1972 book says "Himalayan Bear" (the pit was next to the Ski Centre on the map!).
