No, the others are better and yes, it was the next day. I stayed in an hotel on the Hagley Road in Birmingham and visited Birmingham Nature Centre on the afternoon of 30th October and then Dudley the next two days. On the evening of the 30th I turned on the television in my room and there was that "shock, horror" programme on trying to catch out Federation members disposing of animals not in accordance with Federation rules - featured in particular were a Puma at Dartmoor and an Illiger's Macaw at Paradise Park. Interestingly Sewerby, even though it was not a Federation zoo, had been contacted by "Wildlife Direct" asking about monkeys, but the Head Keeper said he would need to know much more about the company and not surprisingly nothing more was heard. I couldn't see how either collection accused in the programme had done anything remotely wrong.
