Am I the only person here who gets dreadfully stressed by bad grammar generally, and by superfluous apostrophes in particular? Put in conjunction with a shot of an abandoned Lubetkin structure that has listed building status this is making me feel very. very, worked up indeed....
They have now been approved funding for the renovation of the first batch of Tectons, including this one. When I was there a few weeks ago the scaffolding was up around the adjacent kiosk so it appears work is finally happening.
I think it is a great pity Dudley are weighed down with the 'millstone' of these preserved monuments to a bygone age. The large sums of money spent in renovating them could instead have helped to make Dudley into a really modern Zoo, but of course it wouldn't have been granted for that purpose, and if it had, they'd still be left with a selection of crumbling 'art deco'-style buildings. A very difficult situation really.

There didn't appear to be any scaffolding up yesterday (11/8) but all the signs were there. According to the sign at the front entrance this structure is next on the Dudley hit list.

Like Brum, I also did not see any scaffolding around the kiosk when I went (09/08/13), which I did look out for having already viewed your photo Maguari. There also seemed to be no changes to the kiosk. Perhaps just an inspection in preparation for renovation.
I did look for any signs of renovation following the reports on here by yourself and Benosaurus as I was hoping for some follow up photo's, as you can tell there was nothing of the sort.
There appears to be a lot more decoration though, the flowers are far more prominent and they appear to be covering a lot of stone buildings with wooden facades or bamboo style coverings. It all comes across as purely cosmetic.
