Llamas 4th June 1994

Well I was there Sunday and at times I too had trouble spotting them, the foliage helps to hide them I guess. I did get some good views of them before I'd actually entered the zoo though and they are quite visible from the top of the enclosure a lot of the time.

On a side note, maybe we saw each other on Sunday without realising it! :p Here's a photo of me to compare.

No sorry Brum don't remember seeing you. I was there early to do Wake up the Zoo experience, so may have left before you arrived. If you haven't done it yet then it's £30 well spent in my view.

Wake Up The Zoo? Can't say I've heard of that? What does it entail?
And we arrived just after 10 and left just before 4 so we were there all day pretty much, we were going to go to the Black Country Museum afterwards but the kids were knackered! :p

Maybe we'll bump into each other another time, we both frequent the same haunts after all! :)

It's an experience the zoo puts on a couple times a year, you get into the zoo before it opens to the public and you are shown around by an zoo education guy/girl, they lead you to various areas of the zoo giving you info and an opportunity to feed some of the animals.
Sadly I'm going to have to put my picture up to show you what you might get as long as you realize that the one with the four legs is the star of this show!

That's pretty cool, all for £30! Way cheaper than keeper for a day. What time do you have to get there for and does the £30 cover entry or do you have to pay standard admission as well?
It looks great though, never realised Dudley did something like this.

You get into the zoo for 8.45am so have over an hour before the public are let in. The £30 is the total for the tour and entrance.
Keep an eye on their website for when they do the next event. You get to do other things but I wont spoil it for you by telling you what you do.

Thirty quid would be worth it just to have the place to yourself! :p
Out of interest how many people take part in a typical tour?

There are 20 places available, and I'm sad to say only 8 were taken on the one I did, if folks knew how good it was they would sell out for sure.

Well I'm definitely going to try and get a place on the next one, it does look great value for money! :)
