Sulawesi Crested Macaque exhibit

They seem to have got rather carried away with the whole ladder idea!!

(Primates can climb and jump quite well!)

That's what most people say when they see this exhibit, but it works well for the macaques.:)

Does anyone know if the rear wall of this exhibit is protected along with the rest of the tecton?

I would have thought the whole of the Tecton enclosures are covered by the listing ?

I do believe that the back wall isn't protected, it used to be railings/mesh. Very similar to where the tigers are now.

That's good to know as it gives them scope to expand slightly, into the woods above or round to the right, if they ever decided to go back to exhibiting large mammals in here.

However, frustratingly, the middle ex-polar bear pit is definitely solid tecton all the way round its perimeter.
