More a case of what hasn't changed,no work has taken on the old Cassowary enclosure since my last visit in February,if the place was moving forward I would have expected at least that to have changed. Also the area round the fun fair just looks a tip, which it never did under Mr Suddock,it was never popular with us zoochatters but it never looked like a tip under him!!
Nah... sorry I don't agree. You can't say the whole zoo is going downhill, just because two things haven't improved, when so many things clearly have improved and moved forward in 2015 alone, which you're forgetting.
The former Cassowary enclosure:
I took this picture back in April 2014, while Peter Suddock was in charge; http://www.zoochat.com/198/ex-cassowary-exhibit-362081/
Derek Grove only took over in April 2015.
In what way would you have expected it to change? If they can't source appropriate animals for the enclosure then why should they work on it? It doesn't look a mess. Maybe they've been a bit preoccupied with all improvements that have been going on. They obviously did have plans for it, but as we know plans change due to unforeseen events. Just one small unoccupied enclosure does not mean it's going downhill; it's no Marwell.
The area by the fun fair:
Of course the fun fair by the entrance has been there for decades and has never looked good. The new playground and the new food outlet are both improvements. I think you're referring to the builder's/storage yard opposite. This is not open to visitors or part of the visitor's experience- they just need to change the fence so you can't see through it. It probably looks worse due to it being a by-product of the all the recent construction work that has been going on around the entrance, the car park and the rest of the zoo, as well as new enclosures and buildings next year.

That is your right not to agree,so in that case we will have to agree to disagree!
I do have other reason but because of the nature of them I will not post them on here, but will say that these changes could have an impact on the good will from other collections,as a result of some changes that Mr grove has brought in since he has been in charge!!!
